It is official. Winter is upon us. And when I say 'upon' I mean in the form of showers staining your clothes a dark, sodden shade and cold raindrops dripping down the inside of your coat. November is perhaps the most depressing month; the sky remains predominantly grey and it is not quite close enough to Christmas for a festive spirit to pull you through the long nights.
When I was walking through the school today, however, this sight cheered me up. Three umbrellas hanging from a tree, and a flash of pink jumping out from a background of grey and muddy red brick. A group of girls had hung them there, whilst they ate their lunch on the benches below. I don't know why, but it made me smile.
