Kiss and Make Up

When news of a Topshop make up range hit me I was prepared for the worst. Clothes brand does make up does not exactly shout high quality, but fear not as Topshop have teamed up with the people behind MAC and Chanel cosmetics for their new range. Polka dot packaging and wearable shades make for a pleasant surprise. Better still, the pricing is very reasonable (from around £5 - £10) making the range not only desirable, but affordable.

Topshop have a knack of knowing what we want to wear now (me included) and the same now applies for the face and nails too. The range draws from current trends; their pretty pastel shade nail varnishes (£5) earn fashion gold stars. Better yet are the kooky names like 'Bees Knees', 'Cloud,' and 'Gone Fishing'. One of my favourites is the hot pink polish above, called 'Rose Royce'. Sometimes it is all in a name.

'Brighton Rock' is the name of this matte lipstick (£8). It's bright shade is perfect for the summer, just team with sunkissed cheeks and tousled beach hair.
Who could resist some 'Sorbet' lip gloss (£6)?
I particularly like their lipstick crayons that offer a new way to apply colour. They are designed for quick and easy application, and just look like fun. After all who doesn't like colouring?

If in the past you might have splashed out on a bracelet or clutch to match an outfit, why not accessorise with a flash of colour on your nails or lips instead? That's styling for a stylish student / recessionista.
